After having your baby, it is normal to feel tired and go through some hormonal changes that make you irritable or want to cry. If this is your case, don’t worry! Some of the signs that a woman may have postpartum depression are:

  2. Has feelings of anger or anxiety

What are the main risk factors for depression during and after pregnancy?

In women, some of the main risk factors are: having little social support, having a history of depression, having a multiple pregnancy, getting pregnant very young, experiencing stressful circumstances, having difficulty getting pregnant, going into labor prematurely (before 37 weeks), among others.

In the case of men, the risk factors are: not having the support of family or friends, having low levels of testosterone, feeling changes in the relationship with their partner, if his partner shows symptoms of postpartum depression, suffering from work or financial stress, lacking a good male role model, and having difficulty bonding with the baby.
